"Grumpy Old Men III".
Your point, however glib, actually reinforces my point. Please
remember that the topic is deflation. We know that increasing money
supply is inflationary. So, if opposite of inflation (deflation) is
the problem, inflation could be the solution.
I know that this reasoning is flawed (otherwise why doesn't Japan
get out of its deflation related problem by creating money), but I
just don't know why it is flawed.
One way to create money supply is for government to give tax breaks and
to pay for what it needs to pay for with new money. This done in a
controlled, measured way should counteract deflation.
Please don't anyone go off on a political tangent about taxes.
thanks
Jae
