After your concerns last Friday, I realized it was something that might help others, too.
Don't forget that the factory oil is Mobil 1 0W-40, designed to easily go for 10k mile intervals. As Stephen has said, you can't go wrong by being too frequent on your changes (well, I think it was Stephen; it all kinda blurs together after a while). Several folks (who care more than I do) have said that Mobil's Drive Clean syn "blend" oil is really their Group III synthetic, which they view as lower quality syn when compared to Mobil 1's premium Group IV formula. Since Mobil makes Saab's full syn, I wouldn't be surprised if they also make Saab's semi syn. So I'm guessing that Saab's semi is actually Mobil's Group III syn. At any rate, it's a great value, & I seriously doubt you'll ever outdrive it's protection at 5k mile changes. Once you get tired of changing it every 5k miles, you can switch to a premium Group IV full syn & get even more protection at twice the mileage.
