weight transfer under braking conditions. Since the CG is higher in a typical 4WD vehicle, the degree of weight transfer to the front wheels (and away from the rear wheels) will be proportionally higher than a vehicle with a low CG like a passenger car. The decrease in weight on the rear wheels means that the rear wheels will lose traction in both the longitudinal direction but also in the side-to-side direction, making these vehicles more prone to spin about their vertical axis and go into a ditch (or some poor slob's smaller vehicle).
