I believe this is a 1.5L 4 cylinder turbocharged gasoline direct injection (not DI cassette)... but I read it quickly so I may be incorrect in some regard. I think this is the way most cars are going now (eg ecoboost, kia/hyundai, etc), but for a long time Honda really refused to do turbos - their base engines were always very efficient and robust, so there was some merit to that, but it's hard to pass up more low end torque and 20+ more horses all the while getting better epa numbers! So they didn't pass it up, and we'll see more turbo cars. Sounds though like they rushed it out the door a little, so hopefully it is as reliable as Honda engines are known for. The kind of person who drives those cars is not necessarily as diligent about care and feeding as euro car owners need to be to have success, so will be interesting to see how that works out!
