IMHO coolant leaks should be fixed immediately. I think these old radiators are copper/brass assemblies. Usually the joints between the end plates and tubes and the end plates and tanks were soft soldered together. You may have a leak at the soft soldier joint, or you may have a failure of the end tank. Only a close, out of car inspection can tell for sure. With the advent of aluminum radiators, radiator repair shops are fading into the past, but if you can find one I suggest letting them look at your radiator. If it's in good shape, they may also be able to clean the core and improve your cooling as well.
