I had shifting problems when I converted to the low profile mounts from Jack Ashcraft years ago on my 68 V4, which has the original column shift. Adjusting shaft length cured the problem. The lower mounts had no effect on my 74. As I am running the Holly setup from MSS on both, I can't speak of hood clearances. I also converted from the snorkle setup on the V4 to a custom K&N cold air inlet. Sucking air hot air from behind the exhaust makes no sence to me.
