Good luck. I made the switch to BMW from saab after 12 years and my 3-series has been great -- not perfect, but pretty darn good and I like the car much more. I would be careful about buying the new model 3 series too soon -- havent heard anything specifically, but all first model year cars have issues, like your saab. I know the 5 series and 7 series both had issues in their first years.
