Loose Door Stop Torx Screws Posted by Randy Thatcher [Email] (#22) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Randy Thatcher) on Sun, 9 Sep 2007 23:49:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My wife's 2006 9-3SC has 2 loose torx bolts on the passenger front door. I'll snug them up this week. Does anyone have a torque spec for this type of fastener? If not, I'll just make it good and tight. Git R Dun.
I would assume the plant uses nice Swedish Atlas-Copco torque tools to verify proper torque and angle of the fasteners. I know this kind of thing would never get out of a Toyota plant (as I sell them the systems that prevent this). In fact, it would not leave the station where the door is installed. This is called Pokayoke, or error-proofing. Oh, how I'd love to tour the SAAB factory and see how they make cars.
I'll take care of it DIY-style. I'd complain to SAAB, but they already got a long letter about the horrible dash when I got my initial survey. No need to drag down the initial quality numbers.
