I had a 2007 9-3 Aero prior to purchasing my TX, and I definitely prefer the TX. Torque steer on my Aero was horrible, while the XWD system on the TX is fantastic. I live in the North East, so I run snow tires (Blizzaks) in the winter and have a blast driving the TX in snow. The exhaust note on the TX took some getting used to, but it grows on you. Overall handling and ride is better (tighter and sportier) on Turbo X.
As much as I love the car, the TX is not without its issues. I've had coilpack issues (twice), a cd player that crapped out, noisy suspension (bushings) that needed attention, and warped brake rotors -- all were covered under warranty, but annoying none the less. Also, the rattles/squeaks/creaks that emanate from the dash seem more prevalent in the TX (although the Aero had a few as well).
Both of my cars were/are 6 spd -- if you have any reservations about the auto I would definitely hold out for a manual. If you dont mind me asking, how much is the car going for (and how many miles)?
