I have a 2009 Aero Xwd V6 (280hp, 295 ft-lbs (I think)) with an AUTOMATIC (wife factor). Previous SAABs were 1985 SPG and 2001 Viggen Convertible.
We love the car: great handling and driveability, especially at higher freeway speeds. Very comfortable.
Transmission: tuned to shift early to help mpgs. IMO it sucks. I drive in Sport mode which helps upshifting considerably but downshifts can be hard. The hard downshifting can be mitigated with throttle control a bit.
I would get a CPO/Extended warranty. Some coil issues are cropping up and the resolution to many issues is "fuel injector" cleaner which is a bit of a copout but I think is a result of the transmission tuning. Sport Mode helps quite a bit.
I thought the Viggen was more fun but the Aero Xwd handles much better and is a better car.
