I went with all Akebono euro Ceramics on my wife's 2006 Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 31 Jan 2020 12:51:08 In Reply to: Re: 2010 Saab 9-3 Brake Pads, SWEDECAR [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 28 Jan 2020 08:47:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The factory rear pads were horribly dusty when the car was new so I changed those to Akebono Euro Ceramics back in 2008(?). They were great pads until late Fall 2019 when they and the fronts were worn pretty thin. I had new Akebono euro Ceramics installed at all four corners. No impact on stopping distance. No rusty rotors - except following rain but that happens to all.
Now my 2008 9-5 is a different story.
That car needs something more aggressive like Textar pads in order to have effective stopping power. I ran Mintex 'Red Box' pads on my 2000 9-5 and that car could STOP! Unfortunately, the global consolidation of brake pad manufacturers has relegated the Mintex 'Red box' pads to not being sold in the US market. - but I can import them from the UK.
