Further to earlier post (and thank you for response), our Saab technician has determined that the compressor has failed and requires replacement. Compressor has not been disassembled at this time. We have ordered a new Sanden with GM P/No 12792669. This will be installed by the Saab tech in conjunction with his Air Cond technician.
My question, about which I am unclear, is how does one determine the extent of contamination through the system, if any, and secondly, what is the appropriate “flushing” process (ie .. we will flush the system…) to which is referred and how is that performed.
Clearly, if the debris were to get through to the TX valve, that becomes a much bigger exercise.
My concern is that a new compressor is not damaged from any debris in the system.
Thanks again
Regards
Graham
