Thanks, Bernie - we are thinking alike. In addition to replacing all the vacuum hoses, I also replaced the hose with the MAF clipped to it, the hose going to the throttle body, and the intercooler hoses. I haven't replaced the brake booster pipes, but it's hard for me to picture how a leak in one of those would create a more pronounced effect in reverse than in neutral, so I'm hesitant to go that step. I might have no alternative but to wait until it gets bad enough that it throws a code.
