My wife's 2006 9-3SC, the Techs at our local Official Service Center determined it to be defective drive gears in the closing/opening mechanism. They replaced the drive unit with one from a donor car that had no evidence of the gear wear, and the problem was eliminated. This was probably in 2021 or 2019, as working for the local Schools she was WFH for most of 2020 due to COVID, and I remember it happened when she attempted to close the Moon Roof after driving home.
