I've linked my most recent Used Oil Analysis from 5k miles on M1 5W-40, & that post has links to my previous UOAs from M1 0W-40. The 5W-40 seems to be a more durable & better protecting oil than the 0W-40. It's dual-rated, meaning it passes both gasoline & diesel engine requirements. Considering that most diesel engines have turbos these days, & that Saab specs exactly this kind of dual-rated oil over in Europe for all of its vehicles, I think that should only reinforce our use of it here as well.
But really, as long as you're using any premium full syn oil (Mobil 1 or Amsoil), you're ahead of most car owners over here.
