Ah, to rhapsodize endlessly 'bout the virtues of one's favorite turbine libation.... *sigh* Those days are gone, eh? It seemed like only yesterday...
Don't you think BITOG's UOAs have shown M1 5W-30 to be on par with their 10W-30, WRT viscosity retention? I agree that their 10W-30 is more turbo-shear-stable than their 0W-40, but I still feel the 0W-40 does a better job of protecting since it never shears down as thin as 10W-30 starts out new.
And since we're talking about stable oil, why haven't you switched over to M1 15W-50 in your new geographic location? That's gotta be the most stable turbo oil of the bunch, & way more protective than the 0W-30 the dealers have been putting in your car.

An aside (one of J's previous poetical musings):
"... for I want that glib and OILY art to speak and purpose not, since
what I well intend, I'll do't before I speak ..."
[and then he rambles on about sycophancy & career advancement, which eventually (in later discussions) digresses to table dancing for the Marketing Dept; but I probably shouldn't bring that up here...] :-D
