The 2002 Linear and Arc dash, and earlier production 2003's too, is called lightwood. the 99-2001 dash is dark burled walnut and both are real veneer.
There are still dark burled walnut dashes avialible from parts for $300. This is the dash and console with all the housings and vents hanging off of it, not an applicae.
You can darken a lightwood dash with a little furniture polish or stain. Dunno exactly what you would use, but I bet you could find a spot down low to try out things.
And I always recommend just trying it out for awhile. Lotsa' folks have done that with the aluminum look and the different color woods and have just decided it's not too bad and certainly not worth the expense of changing. Also just furniture polish, getting a little oil into the wood, just like a veneer piece of furniture, wouldn't cost anything.
