Same happened with me - the auto broker foregoes his commission to offer a warranty for a decent price. First; if not CPO, FIND OUT WHY. There could be a tiny accident in the history that was repaired well, but disqualifies CPO - like mine. That said, I have Ultimate Insurance backed by Capital Assurance Corporation. ALWAYS do research on the backing company despite the name brand - for example; Liberty Assurance Group is in Bankruptcy.
My warranty covers everything in the original factory warranty and cost me 1500 for 5 years and 125K total miles. Yup, it has paid for itself and I also use it to underwrite other work - for example, it covered a water pump and while the engine was lowered, I replaced the belts and pulleys (wear item) saving chargable shop hours. Play by the rules. Ask the indie mechanics who pays up well. Then laugh at the Camry owners that buy the insurance that subsidizes your hot rod.
