As for the serpentine belt tensioner.
I have seen more and more of them show wear at 100K or more.
It sneeks up very slowly and is shown as that the tensioner pulley is tilting ever so lightly outwards and the belt is wondering off outwards.
The backside of the tensioner which is a big flat aluminum surface will also start to rub against the timing cover, producing a squeaking noise.
The reason for this is a white nylon/plastic disc between the outer moving part and the inner static part of tensioner, wearing out.
I beleive the wear might be speeded up with the slight constant oil leak from cylinder head gasket that dribbles some oil on the tensioner and allow dust and dirt to get trapped, wearing the nylon disc quicker.
The most worn tensioners I have seen on cars that have the most amount of oil leak in that area.
So before removing the belt, I always check how far out on the tensioner pulley the belt is riding. If the belt is hanging "off the lip" of pulley, I recommend to replace the tensioner too.
