9-5's are NOT in the same league as 9000's. They are newer, smaller, more "refined", and more Opel. I put nearly 100k on one. It spent more time in service than ALL my 9000's combined. I went back to a 9000 ('91 9kT).
I missed the space, feel, and raw power. The 9000 feels like a sports sedan, the 9-5 feels like a sedan. Ultimately my '91 was too old for me to keep up with...not so much the $$$, but the time. I use a car in business 25-30k/year. If I was an average driver (10-15k/yr) I would keep looking for a 9000.
I replaced mine with an Infiniti M35. A superior sports sedan with extraordinary interior space. I still miss my 9000...never missed my 9-5.
Hope this helps..
Chris
