03 9-5 CPO Arc with now 19200+ miles
Ok so I took my car to the dealership and the replaced the left rear hub. They said the ABS/tach sensor was bad. I picked up the car and 190 miles later the warning lights (ABS, TCS, brake, etc) are back on. I live about 150 miles from the dealership, and it was the fifth time that I started the car.
Took the car back up to the dealership and the car reported the same code for the left rear sensor, but the light was now off. The dealership has had my car for several days now and they are strongly hinting that I should pick up the car as they can’t fix the car if the light is not on. It gets funnier….The Saab Assistance center says that it’s not safe to drive the car when the lights have come on. The Saab dealer says that they need the lights on to fix the problem. So I am being told that it may be best to pick up the car and contact roadside assistance when the lights come back on, and have them haul the car (while its running) to the dealership 145 to 150 miles away. Is that stupid or what? Is it even safe?…it would seem that it would be a fire waiting to happen as the car would get no airflow…maybe just me.
While talking to the Saab service center I mentioned that they buy back the car, heck they are making a claim to do so? Anyone hear about that happening either?
Anyone have any ideas? I am just frustrated as I purchased the car with aprox 16800 miles on it. It now has about 19200 miles on it and 600 of those miles have been to and from dealerships…..
So it gets better I drive the 150 or so miles to the dealership to get the car on Saturday. As I am leaving the dealership I can feel that the car is not free (put the car I drive let my foot of the brake and the car just creeps along, heck I can walk faster than the car) anyways drove the car 10 miles and “Ding” the lights are back on. Drove the car back to the dealership and tried to contact the service folks so that they can look at the car. After letting the car just idle for 1 ½ hours we just turned it off and left it at the dealership.
Any thoughts would be appreciated as I am so frustrated.
