Well, I havent towed 3000lbs, but I have towed 2000lbs with no problems. I just dont get into the throttle too much at a light, and keep more distance for braking.
I will say there there was this one time on I-70 where I got into a situation where there was a truck on the left of me, and this Jackass behind me in an Expedition who was asking to rear end my trailer. I put my foot in it all the way and the Aero shot from 65 to 80 in nothing flat (and this was on an incline). I was utterly amazed at the pulling power with 2000lbs of trailer behind it. Got me out of the situation. Jackass with the Expedition then got to pass when I came back down to 65 (where I feel most comfortable towing.)
BTW, I used to have an Explorer, and I definitely feel more secure with the 9-5 towing. Braking and stability mostly. Plus I KNOW the Explorer would not have had that passing power...
