I thought batteries had a finite number of cycles in their life - largely dependent on how they are cared for.
Different application, though similar? I have a large cruising boat with a bank of 2 group 27's (for starting the main engines and running pumps), 2 group 29's (for high current draw 12V devices (bow thruster and windlass) and 2 group 31's (for the inverter system). Boaters have to take incredible care of their batteries due to the investment. As I understand it, only 2 things can really shorten a battery's life - discharge too low or get too hot (ambient environmental or by charging to quickly). My mains last about 4 years, the 29's last 1-2 years because of the current draw rate, and the 31's are 7 years old now.
Can either heat or draw be causing these 9.5's to eat batteries way faster than normal?
Here's a link to a site that I use for proper loading and maintenance info. Maybe it'll give you some info? http://newmarket.cps-ecp.org/battery_maintenance.htm
