My original battery, '04 Arc, just died overnight about exactly two years after the car was manufactured. No unusual use, never drained, no warning, normal use one day and too dead to crank the next. Posted here at the time and there seemed to be rash of similar failures. The local dealer mumbled something about a bad batch. Supposedly, or I've heard, that the OEMs are made by Interstate, a stellar product based on my previous experience. I just don't see where there is any extraordinary demands on the SAAB battery, lots of current cars have all sorts of gadgets and systems that put minimal continuous drain but should not be harmful to a battery. Can anyone explain?
