The current state of the world is such that individuality is no longer valued. Homogeneity is the trend. Sure, SAAB could try and maintain its status as the iconic quirky marque, but as was getting to be the case (and still is apparently) not sell a whole lot of cars. Its all about money. Aesthetically speaking, the newer Bimmers can most easily be described as silly looking, but they're still selling, they are the car to have and everyone has them. G-35s are everywhere. You want to sell cars, you've got to be like them. You want to maintain your indivduality, you'll starve to death in today's world.
