I also have a 2000 SE V6 wagon. Mine has 87k miles on it and although it has had a few expensive issues, the pleasure of driving it has easily outweighed the negatives. As a European car, it will be more expensive to maintain than a Honda or Toyota, but its sophisticated computer system and positive features generally contribute to large amounts of satisfaction with the car as a whole. I love the throaty rumble of the exhaust, the acceleration when I need it, the comfort of the seat, the bun coolers therein, the quirky cup holder that unfolds out of the dash, and the night panel (to avoid all those Mooses in south Texas). When you look under the hood you'll notice why maintenance seems expensive--everything is so tightly packed that most of the labor is removal and replacement of the parts to get to the ones that need fixing/replacement. And although the parts you need are on the expensive side, this site can give you good information about good deals. I would suggest that you check your area for a reliable mechanic (you can use this site to do so), whether an independent or a dealer, and be ready to develop a meaningful relationship with him. He can save you a lot of money and stress. Congratulations on your acquisition. I think you're gonna really like your car.
