This is long, but I think I've been bent over and abused on this and I'd really appreciate getting some feedback from some service folk (Anders?). I will 'name names' as soon as I decide on culpability and how it's resolved. I will say that it's a major Saab dealership on Long Island. I went to them for this (as opposed to my indy) because I needed a loaner, and I have my 4-1/2 year old daughter with me.

So last week I took my 2002 Aero, M/T in for it's 120,000 service. I acknowledge it's a 'major' service interval.

I also reported:
- I was concerned about the clutch. It's the original and seemed to be getting a little soft, but it wasn't slipping, even under extreme stomping.
- I wanted the serpentine belt, pulleys and tensioners replaced as per my understanding of recommendations here (every 60K miles).
- Had a very slow A/C leak
- I wanted the door locks to be reprogrammed to all open when the key was
removed. More and more people in my car get very confused when I stop it and they can't open the door (what's your hurry?). Anyway...

They gave me a loaner (an Acura) and I was on my way to work. Since my daughter attends PreK where I work I also must transfer over the carseat each time I change cars.

Got a call later that day with an update. They didn't feel the clutch needed replacing so they didn't.
They didn't feel the belt, tens., and pulleys needed replacing. They looked fine. Never heard of needing to replace them every 60K miles.
Found a small leak at the A/C recharge port. Fixed, with dye added in case there were further problems.
They said they reprogrammed the doors.

Total bill: $1075

Picked up the car. Seemd to run properly. Drove it to work. Found the doors weren't reprogrammed. Wasn't a charge on the bill for it so I didn't consider it a big thing. I'd mention it to the customer service person, but not a big deal. Drove it upstate over the weekend. Noticed when I got up there the driver's side floor was wet. Noted but didn't think too much about it.

Got home Sunday night and smelled something damp, musty. Felt the rear floor and there was an easy 1/4 inch of water pooled on both sides. Enough that when I pulled the mats out they drained water on the driveway for a minute or so.

Not knowing exactly what they did with the A/C issue, I called in the morning and they said they'd have the car back the next morning (yesterday) and take a look at it. I have a 33 mile commute and this place is 20 miles in the opposite direction, so I don't relish going there. We arrive and are asked to sit in the waiting area (a modest waiting area, to be charitable). After a half hour Serv. Man. comes out to tell me it will be a bigger job than they anticipated, might take a couple hours. And they have no loaners available.

So we arrange for a rental to be delivered. I go out to get the carseat, rental minivan arrives, carseat's installed with child, we're off to the rental office to fill out the paper work. Another 45 minutes later and we're headed to work (and PreK).

Midway through the day I get a call from SM to inform me the evaporator drains werre clogged 'with all kinds of nasty organic slimey stuff'. And that it would cost $250 to fix.

I'm not going to go into all the hew and cry that ensued, suffice to say I picked the car up, found there to be still standing water on the rear floor, and the doors and windows closed, paid the bill and will be reporting this to their management.

So my key question in all this is: If a 9-5 comes in for a major service, should I expect that the evaporator drains be checked for clogs. I realize it's not spelled out on the Saab checklist, but it seems to me any experienced Saab mechanic should be aware that they do clog and have the presence of mind to shoot some air through them.

Help me Obi-Wan Kanobe.
