to each, his own. die-hards will always recommend manual, BUT there are a lot on these boards who have converted just the same.
I'm still a die-hard manual person. yes, there are days in traffic when an auto would be nice but otherwise I'm still happy though I may try the tranny bushings others have talked about. Smooth driving is a little more tricky than my previous Honda, but that's pretty hard to beat.
I drove identical cars back to back ('04 Aeros) and admit it took me a while to think about it. In the end the manual won over. There's nothing like holding it 2nd or 3rd and then punching it :)
Manuals are hard to come by...but I recommend driving one if you get the chance.
