2000 Aero + Redline MTL = a world of difference Posted by Caarl [Email] (#447) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Caarl) on Mon, 8 Oct 2007 20:43:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I posted last summer about intermittent stubborn 3rd & 4th shifts and how driving the car briskly seemed to improve it. Maybe burned some deposits or burrs off the synchros, who knows?
But what made a huge difference was having the transmission fluid changed last week. Now it shifts better at 50 k miles than when I got it! Like butter.
Read up on genuinesaab's library and you'll see that Saab recommends a newer type of fluid on these older ones if you have shifing complaints. (Funny, when I complained to my Saab dealer while it was still under warranty they blew off my complaint. They drove it around the block once and said it was fine. How do you get a service writer to understand the word "intermittent?")
