No use comparing?
It's good to have a goal.
I have a V6 - and watch mileage very closely. I can't change how much I drive very easily, but I can sure change how much fuel I burn.
At gas prices now - anyone who isn't adjusting to figure out how to burn less is a problem. I may get flamed for that - but someone had to say it.
Great thread.
I get 31.5mpg on a 100% hwy trip at 62mph on cruise control.
My difference between 55 and 65mph is about 2mpg.
My difference between 65 and 75 is about 2.5mpg.
In the city, I can get 21.5. My usual driving in this car is almost all city. 300 miles per week carting kids around.
I try to time the lights. Shut off the car while waiting in line. Accelerate moderately. Coast as much as possible. Shift to nuetral coming down bigger hills.
I'm in reformulated land - so that's a factor.
My goal is to get a city tank above 22.0 on the SID, which is reset at every fill up and dead on in my tests.
Again - great question. Mostly I just read these forums. I don't have the knowledge that others have on this board (thank you all by the way)...but I do have a goal to maximize my mileage and had to chime in.
