I purchased my wife's CPO Linear wagon last year and my CPO Arc sedan 3 months ago. We were not offered a separate price for CPO coverage - it was baked into the transaction price - but we got very good deals on both.
On the wagon, we have had a new throttle body, thermostat and a temp sensor, plus 2 new alloy wheels that were out of round and causing a vibration, all covered under CPO.
On the sedan, after I complained of various squeaks and clunks coming from the front suspension two weeks ago, the dealer replaced the front struts, strut bearings and the sway bar links and bushings. They also did the steering column spline lubrication service, replaced the serp belt tensioner, repaired the driver's side heated seat element, replaced a squeaking grommet behind the steering wheel and even replaced the bulbs in the vented seat switches. In addition, as part of the CPO certification process, the car received 4 new tires, new front rotors and pads and the 60K service. None of the above cost me a penny and I had loaner cars the entire time, no fuss.
It seems that some people get resistance from their dealer; it helps that my dealer is excellent. Needless to say, CPO is where it's at. I'd go for it.
