For a non-Aero, it can be performed fairly quickly straddling the curb (and I have), without removing lots of bits. I don't know whether this is workable on an Aero, with its lower suspension and deeper chin spoiler.
I think it's nutty, how far the engine air supply has to travel, but I'm not sold on a K&N kit stuffed under the hood with no cold air supply, either.
