I have a 2001 Aero with 130,000 miles on it. Owned it since new. It is a very very nice car that is quite reliable.
I would be sure you have a good independent mechanic. There are a few things that can go wrong in the next 100,000 miles.
Do you have the service records?
Do the PCV 6 modification. $80 in parts and easy to do.
Major things we have had to repair are DIC, heater control valve, alternator and fuel pump. Throw in a couple of motor mounts for good measure. Also make sure you put a new torque arm bushing for the tranny from Talifaferro IMports/ genuine Saab. A $35 part that really makes the shifting of the manual more precise.
Don't let this list worry you.....this is a terrific car, FAST, great handling good looking and VERY well put together.
This list is priceless in helping you out as well.
Ask for recommendations for a good independant mechanic in your area or search the list on this site.
