I personally own 2x Saabs, and my family as well. I have a 1987 Saab 9000 Turbo, and a 1999 Saab 9-5 SE (4 cyl). I love both of these cars.
I do not have any problems with either one. My 9000T has 142k miles on it, and has travelled the world (purchased in Germany, picked up at factory in Sweden, and is now in Texas)
I got my 9-5 in Nov. 1999, and it is now 1-year old. Other Saabs my family has are: 1992 900, and a 1997 9000 CSE. Everyone in my family likes them, and does not have problems.
But, I also believe that ANY car can last if properly maintained and driven.
-my 2x cents for what it's worth.
