Consumer Reports ranks the 9-5 as a best buy for a used car purchase. The '05 has mostly red dots in its CR graphic column. (In the CR rankings, the more red dots the better.) Plus the '05 was the last model before GM bean counters went to work on the interior. Like any used car purchase, you should take advantage of the available tools to check out the car's history. And if no one has already told you -- You MUST take care of the scheduled maintenance on a Saab. Cutting corners on maintenance is pretty much a guarantee you'll have "reliability" problems. I've been looking at '05 Aeros but my 1999 with 125K is giving me no problems at all. Family members keep telling me, you can afford a new car. But I like what I got and it's fun and paid for.
