From what I've heard, the CPS can be a fairly easy DIY job, for just the cost of the part! (If you feel up to it!) CPS seems to be heat-related, so maybe if you check back in a few more hours, it will start up... that would say cps to me.
I'd check the electrical system a little more carefully, too... it almost sounds to me like a bad alternator, but not quite. If you can get it to start again on its own, that'd rule out the alternator. Check all the cable connections?
