Engine Died - Towed Required - Advice?

Hi all,
Tonight while driving home my car died while idling at an intersection. As I was literally a block from my house, I just pushed it to the side of a road into a parking/meter spot until I could deal with it later.
A couple hours later, I came out to find that it immediately started. Given that one of my battery terminals has been out-gassing a lot and has caused a LOT of corrosion on the (+) terminal, I decided to give a quick drive to the local AutoZone to replace the battery. For what it's worth, the Voltage on the battery with the vehicle off was around 12.5 V. With the vehicle ON, the voltage was 13.5 V (approx - this is from memory).
I changed out the battery in the Autozone parking lot. The car did require a jump start, which was fine as I have a car started in the trunk. I got probably four or five blocks down the road when the car died again. No amount of jump starting, or waiting 30 minutes for the car to cool-down, would allow it to start. Eventually I gave up and had it towed.
What are the possible culprits? I've read a lot about the CPS sensor. I'm leaning towards that, as this same event happened randomly about a month ago. Car was sitting in the sun for a bit, shortly after I had driven it. When I went to restart, it cranked over, but it never started. While waiting for the tow truck to arrive, I tried again 30 minutes later, and it started right up.
Note: I don't believe it's the DIC. I had some error codes two months ago which pointed to my DIC going bad. I swapped out the DIC with the spare in my trunk, and those codes haven't returned.
Thanks for any advice,
KevinH

How much does a CPS sensor replacement job usually go for?
