If so, yours would be another tally mark on the list of owners who have had Contnental brand belts fail without good reason.
The battery and CPS are unrelated to the belt/pulley problem.
Batteries tend to last about 3 years maximum. CPS failures are evidenced by problems starting a warm engine. Interestingly, your post said nothing about this problem. Is your Tech just trying to help yuo by replacing known wear-out item proactively? Usually considered a good thing to do, but you should be informed as such.
