Without much force I was able to move the engine away from the frame about 1/8" - 3/16". I can see with the addition of a "dental" mirror that my middle idler bolt is a Torx (maybe a T-30). Strange because the bolt looks so much like the tensioner pulley's bolt. Anyway I already cut a T-30 and put it in a ratcheting box end wrench (only 4" long so I am trying to put an extension on) so I should not need to force the engine away from frame. I am not sure how far you can open the gap without damage but if all you need is maybe 3/16" more, I could easily do this with a 2 X 2 x 19" long piece of wood placed down between the middle idler and water pump pulley. I too am concerned as TimBrown and would want a more experienced person to comment before applying much more force.
