FIAT, ALFA, Peugeot, Citroen, OPEL and Renault parts are available because those companies still exist. Oldsmobile used many standard GM parts. But if Saab goes bankrupt, there will be many, many parts that will be unavailable or quite hard to find. Some which come to mind: Interior parts, electronics, and model year specific parts. A few years ago, I had the float replaced in my gas tank 1500 miles from home. The dealer had the parts in stock. Don't expect to be able to load the family and do the summer vacation thing if Saab parts and dealerships dry up. Can you imagine having to bring your car to a Buick dealer in Kansas because that is who GM assigned to do warranty work on Saab? I think this issue has not yet sunk in to Saab owners. If Saab goes out of business in May, which they could, the value of ANY Saab of any year will fall to $2500 or less.
