Thanks, Larry.
Yeah, I was sort of hoping they would have used an NMO mount but figured the chances weren't that good.
I didn't know the OnStar box was under the shelf: that makes for an easier time, methinks, as I can get that fin off, cut the coax and use it to pull the new coax from an NMO mount through.
I've been using a Diamond trunk-lip mount with a dual-band antenna for 2/440 ,which kept striking the side of the car due to the compound hinge action of the trunk. Last weekend, my wife closed the rear door on the antenna and I, not knowing this, closed the trunk. Crrrrrruuunnnnnccccch! Antenna is now junk (but hey, I got 10 years and two cars out of it!) Putting the antenna on an already-useless hole-in-the-roof is appealing.
TNX for the info. Looks like I've got a project :) I've just got to order another Austin Metropolitan antenna (19", 3 bands, work great and last forever!).
