My experience with my 2000 L4 car Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 18 Jul 2009 07:37:14 In Reply to: Year one with 2001 9-5 se, Trippp [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 18 Jul 2009 01:30:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Overall, this car has been fantastic! By far the best vehicle I have ever owned.
That being said, the summer of 2007, with the car at 190K miles, was expensive. Within a two month period of time I replaced: the fuel pump, the oil pressure sensor, the cabin fan, and the coolant by-pass valve.
The local Dealer did the fuel pump and oil pressure sensor ($$ ouch!) and I replaced the other two items. The two years since then have been free of any extraordinary maintenance (except a $400 timing chain replacement), as were the 7-1/2 years prior to that summer.
All mechanical/electrical items have a life expectancy, a number of things just died at about the same time. Now at 253K miles and still going strong!
