2-4 months on the 2010 9-5 is VERY optimistic. The tooling isn't even set up in Trollhaten yet. :/ I would be surprised to see them show up at US dealers by April 2010. I hope they don't rush it and compromise build quality...
Anyway, back to the OP, go for it man!!! I bought a 2004 Aero with 31k miles on it in December. I have put 10,000 miles on it and have only had to replace the DI cassette. Other than that I've done routine maintenance like brakes and a battery. 2004's are very reliable and they only got better from there... in terms of reliability. I can't vouch for styling though, haha.
A Saab dealership can CPO a car (it's about $1500 I think), and I wouldn't worry about anyone not backing it. GM will continue to back it for now, and when the Koenigsegg deal closes they'll be responsible for it. Good luck!
