I have unfortunately found out that my 2004 Aero is miserable to drive around town with CT's crappy roads. It is a DREAM on the highway, but I feel like I'm riding around town in a horse-drawn buggy with wooden wheels. I feel like such an old man, but it is ROUGH, and this leads to cabin squeaks and rattles that make my spine shiver. It corners decently, but I don't think it handles well enough to warrant such a jarring ride. I feel every single freaking bump, lump, hole, CRACK in the road. Has anyone ever changed the suspension in these things? Koni FSD's maybe? I am in no financial position to do anything to it right away, but I'm wondering if there is something out there worth saving for. I'm not really interested in putting 16" wheels on it. I like the 17's- would tires make a difference? It has Nexens on it that are kind of so-so in my opinion. As much as I love this car, I'm almost seriously considering getting something else (wanting a manual transmission is also compounding the issue). I recognize my insanity, but thanks for any suggestions.
