yes, worry .... Posted by bobc [Email] (#473) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bobc) on Sun, 16 Aug 2009 23:10:21 In Reply to: Add coolant fluid message (longish with cliffs), Wasabi, Sun, 16 Aug 2009 18:26:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
... well, honestly, don't worry ... but do act. and act soon.
The car should not be loosing coolant under the conditions you describe. it should not loose coolant under any condition. If they car is losing coolant, you have a leak. Your job is to find it ASAP.
based on your description you have a slow leak right now.
A few thoughts:
- Water pumps usually leak slowly, and they get worse, slowly.
- heater bypass valves start to leak slowly, and get worse fast.
- hoses rarely leak slowly, but if you have small pinhole or slit in a hose it will get worse quickly.
- headgasket. these are slow leaks
