I do some work, especially fluids and plugs on my 92 9kT, so I can do the same with the 9-5. I will also search for the oil sender and see if that's a problem. I just remebered he also wanted to to replace my oil-pan gasket, but I couldn't see any oil leaking from that area.
I've had the car in my garage for a week and only had one small drop of oil leak on the floor so far, but I'm keeping my eyes open and will monitor.
I have the 8 CD/DVD set of WIS that I will install shortly.
Sure looks like this dealer didn't have much service revenue and wanted me to contribute a big number. Except for the key and the marrying of my upcoming CD changer, I will likely use my independant mechanic for most work. His inspection did indicate a couple small oil leaks, I think the valve cover and the general area of oil sender. It also looks like the oil drain plug has no gasket, which I will check on.
Just as an academic question, could I have purchased one of the many keys I've seen on ebay and then purchased the VIN# blank from the dealer and had him change the blank and modify/marry that xmitr to my car?
Thanks for all the advice.
