I mispoke on the gasket, as even I know my 9kT doesn't have one, and I should have remembered they use a sealant instead, I think he just said he would reseal the pan.
I was just blown away by how casually the Service Advisor rattled off these items as we walked under the car and the mechanic sat on his stool looking at his computer (seemingly uninterested). It was obvious to me the SA was ca-chinging the $$$ in his head as he went down the list.
I challenged the rear main seal by indicating my indy thought it was a PCV leakage instead, and finally the mechanic came over to look at the spot where the leak appeared to be originating (kinda like a square can up against the block -- PCV?) in the rear.
Yes, I goofed on the key, should have bought a spare off ebayn (my 1st time with electronic keys), but I also asked them to do a 60k inspection at the same time. Oh well, we all live and learn, and I learned well!!
Likely will do some stuff myself and employ my indy for the rest, as he did a good job on 4 rotors and pads for my 9kT, and was recommended by the local SCCA President who was a long time friend.
Likely I will still need this dealer to marry my CD changer after I get it installed, so I left on good terms, just with a lighter wallet.
