Been there done that. What I did to remove it was to drill a small hole most of the way through the center of the drain plug for a "easy out" (bolt extractor, whatever). Then I drilled the head and shoulder of the bolt off with a 1/2 inch drill bit. You need to be very accurate going up the center of the bolt if you try this. Once I got the head of the bolt off, I found out that the hole in the threaded portion was too short for the bolt extractor. You might want to drill all the way through with the first hole to prevent this though this could be very messy. It didn't matter anyway, as the rest of the bolt was so loose, a small screwdriver angled in the hole easily turned it out until I could grip it with my fingers.
