Navid,
I drive a '03 9-5 Aero, and my son has an '03 9-3 ARC. I got him the 9-3 after he had an accident in his 9-5 so safety is my number one concern. I bought the 9-3 in 2006 with 24K miles on it, it just turned 89K. The car has been stellar. Not a single unexpected repair other than normal maitanance and consumables (tires). I love driving the 9-3, a very different ride from the 9-5 AERO, softer yet handles like it is on rails. Front seat room is better than the 9-5 but rear seat is marginal at best. Car routinely gets 33mpg HWY ( 6 speed) and has more power than most people need. Creature comforts are abundant. Seats are very nice, very good on long trips. My only complaint with the car is the infamous rubberized coating on the buttons wears off and looks bad. Other than that the car as I said has been flawless. Hope I haven't just jinxed myself. Just an FYI, my father (84 years old) loves driving his grandsons 9-3 although a little cumbersome to get in and out of as it sits a bit low. As far as reliability and performance I give it a thumbs up.
Hope your parents are OK following their accident.
Steve
