It appears that you got 2 tires that are brand new, never been run. Notice all the moulding peices on the tire. They go away in the first few miles. So yes the other two have been used, but certanly not worn out.

You will read that the best two should go on the rear however in your case either way would work and if you need to run in a lot of loose snow in steep areas I would opt for the new ones on the front.

Make us all envious by telling what you paid !
